Take your celebrations of Easter to a deeper level: join us for a Contemplative Eucharist, commemorating St. Mark, the Evangelist, on Friday, April 25, from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. at The General Theological Seminary (440 West 21st Street in Manhattan). Beginning outside of the seminary chapel, we will celebrate new life, give thanks for baptism, and find our way to an upper room to enjoy Christ’s resurrected presence in bread and wine. Stories from Mark’s Gospel will guide us through this celebration which will also include times for silence, conversation, musical offerings, and visual meditation on the resurrection. Our celebration provides occasion to bask in the simple joys of the season in a Spirit of leisure, and is especially appropriate for those who had a very busy Holy Week and who still hunger for deep worshipfulness! This event is the culmination of a Contemplative Eucharist Practicum course; it is hosted by that course’s instructor and students and, as it is a liturgy, it is free of charge and open to the public.
All are welcome. Please join us!
