Changes in Keller Library Leadership

The Rev. Andrew Kadel has informed the Board of Trustees that he is resigning as Director of the Christoph Keller, Jr., Library and as member of the faculty of The General Theological Seminary, effective May 23, 2015.

Fr. Kadel came to the Seminary as director of the St. Mark’s Library in 2003. During his time here he oversaw the transition to the new Keller Library, participating in planning and fundraising, and overseeing the move in and out of an interim space to the new Keller Library. He was instrumental in improving the technology in the library, including the introduction of e-books and installation of our new online library catalog system. He was also active on Faculty committees and has served as faculty secretary since 2010. The Very Rev. Kurt H. Dunkle, and the entire Board and the GTS community, are deeply appreciative of all of Fr. Kadel’s efforts on behalf of our Seminary, including the work he has done to establish the Keller Library as a great resource for General Seminary, The Episcopal Church, and the Anglican Communion worldwide.

A period of discernment about the ongoing leadership of the Library is now underway.

We will be sharing details about a celebration we are planning to honor of Fr. Kadel’s ministry at General shortly.
