The Rev. John Hamilton, Class of 2004, has been called as Rector of St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, Dahlonega, Georgia. His ministry will begin formally on Ash Wednesday, 2017. He previously served at St. John’s Getty Square in Yonkers, N.Y. for almost nine years, and recently two Mississippi churches as interim pastor.
Originally from Mississippi, he has studied at the University of Oxford and lived with intellectually disabled adults in Christian Community in Liverpool. He earned a Masters of Accounting from Georgia State and while living in Atlanta, worked for IBM. Before attending General, he spent 13 months on a mission tour in Honduras, teaching elementary school. After graduating from General, he served as Curate at Grace Church, Newark.
