Beyond the Close: An Invitation from Our Neighbors at St. Peter’s Church

In 1946 former parishioner of St Peter’s, Theodore Witonski (Col. US Army, Ret.), painted a tryptich called “Our Lord Blessing a Soldier and a Sailor” for our side altar. In 1954, the Parish though it was ‘too militaristic’ and covered it with a curtain. It has remained covered for 59 years.

Beyond the Close: The Episcopal Church Looking for Seminarians to Write about Lectionary

The Office of Communication of The Episcopal Church is seeking students from Episcopal seminaries to write study questions and comments on the Revised Common Lectionary Sunday readings, to be featured on an online Bible study (http://episcopaldigitalnetwork.com/stw/bible-study).
We can offer students $50 for writing 600-800 words, and interested students should contact Sarah Johnson (sjohnson@episcopalchurch.org) to be assigned a set of RCL readings for a Sunday in 2013/2014.  Read more...
