In 1946 former parishioner of St Peter’s, Theodore Witonski (Col. US Army, Ret.), painted a tryptich called “Our Lord Blessing a Soldier and a Sailor” for our side altar. In 1954, the Parish though it was ‘too militaristic’ and covered it with a curtain. It has remained covered for 59 years.
